Marijuana addiction is something that more and more people struggle with these days. Giving up this addiction after several years of smoking weed and joints, is something pretty difficult. Some have compared this to giving up cigarettes, but little do they know, these two addictions are different from each other. That is why I will give you 3 reasons that will help you strengthen your resolve and start getting you sober.
As I was saying, letting go of cigarettes isn’t like getting rid of marijuana. This is because the addiction in marijuana doesn’t come from the body, it comes from the mind. Cigarettes have nicotine which pretty much enslave your body, making it think it constantly needs it.
With marijuana, the addiction comes from the brain. Your mind likes being high, so it begins craving for it. So in order to give up your marijuana addiction, you must fight with the tissue that commands your every move. How do you do this? By persuading yourself, which also includes your mind, that you don’t need to be high anymore. Here are 3 reasons that will help you do that.
1. Physical Reason To Give Up Your Marijuana Addiction
When you consume weed daily, you probably don’t notice the changes that happen to your body. Your skin begins to look old and wrinkled, your eyes will be blood-shot constantly and your teeth will turn yellow. These are just the outside problems, on the inside, the hot fumes from smoking damage your lungs, reducing their capacity to store oxygen. Also, when you are high, you are very lazy, so you will eat a lot of junk food, which is not healthy at all and you will gain a lot of weight, especially since you won’t be in the mood to do any exercises BUY CBD.
2. Psychological Reason To Stop Your Addiction
When you are high, everything about you and around you moves slower. You will find it harder to concentrate on what you are doing. You will forget basic things like, where you left something, dates, names, people that you were introduced to and so on. When you smoke heavily, you will also become very paranoid, always believing that someone is after to get your stash. From there, you will also have a lot of mood swings. When you have enough weed, you will be very happy, but once you smoke it, anxiety will take place as you will fear that you will run out of your precious pot. So basically, everything about you will change when you are high.
3. Financial Reason To Stop Smoking Weed
Fueling a marijuana addiction is expensive. And I am not talking about just the cost of the actual pot. I am talking about everything that links to it. Besides having to buy the pot and other necessary parts to make a joint, other expenses come into play. For instance, as I mentioned above, you will be very likely to buy a lot of junk food and fast food. This will add up to cost you a lot of money. You will most likely forget to pay your bills too, which in turn will add your expenses up to the point you won’t be able to pay them fully.
If you are trying to quit this nasty habit, but you lack the will power to do it, just look yourself in the mirror and think about what you’ve read here. Is it worth continuing to smoke weed? You will most likely come to the conclusion that it is not worth it. How do I know all of this? It’s simple. I too was in that position, desperately struggling to find something that will motivate me enough to quit this. All I had to do is take a step back and look at what I have become. And it was all I needed to start getting free of my marijuana addiction.
Keep in mind one thing: You are not in this alone, there is help out there and all you need to do is let it in.
